This is The Big Up! A unique and original Heritage Project developed by The Big House.

The Big Up! unearths overlooked stories of Global Majority individuals who have have played a significant part in shaping Britain’s history. This project amplifies inspiring stories that deserve recognition and gives young people the chance to see themselves represented. The Big Up! is here to bring colour to the pages of our history. The Book Liberator delves into the life of Ras Seymour McLean. Renowned as an activist, he tirelessly campaigned for the recognition of land given by Emperor Haile Selassie to Jamaican Rastafari seeking to return to their spiritual home in Shashemane. McLean’s advocacy extended to attending public events where he pleaded for assistance to neglected Rastafarians in Shashemane.
